What is therapeutic massage?
Therapeutic massage is a blend of bodywork techniques aimed at relieving pain, reducing stress, and addressing specific health concerns. It involves the manipulation of the body's soft tissues, including muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments, and joints, to enhance overall health and well-being.

Who can benefit from therapeutic massage?
Therapeutic massage can benefit a wide range of individuals, including those with chronic pain, stress-related conditions, sports injuries, and post-surgical recovery needs. It is also beneficial for individuals seeking general relaxation and wellness.
-
How does therapeutic massage differ from regular massage?
If your goal is relaxation, the session will likely feel more like a regular massage, with some additional focus on areas of tension. If there are specific pain or performance concerns, I will utilize my training in Orthopedic massage. Unlike regular relaxation massages, Orthopedic massage targets specific injuries, chronic pain, and physical dysfunctions. It often involves a detailed assessment and customized treatment plans.

What can I expect during my first therapeutic massage session?
Your first session will include a comprehensive assessment of your condition. Additionally, we’ll discuss your preferences of pressure, modalities, and communication. I will then use specific techniques tailored to your needs, which may include deep tissue work, stretching, and the use of tools such as cupping.
-
What should I wear during a massage session?
You can undress to your comfort level. Some clients prefer to undress completely, while others may choose to keep their underwear on, and of course, you can remain fully clothed. I have and will work with whatever level of undress you are comfortable with and will ensure proper draping throughout the session.

I do not want a male LMT, do you have any female therapists instead?
Unfortunately, at this time I am the sole provider here at Rocinante Healing House. I am always looking for collaborators and will hopefully be able to bring a female LMT on board in time. Meanwhile, I completely respect individual needs and preferences regarding your provider and will gladly consult with you about your needs and refer you to a LMT who best suits your needs.
